2022-S American Women Quarter - Nina Otero-Warren (BU)

Nina was known as a courageous and trailblazing advocate who made a tremendous difference for women, children, and Native American communities. She exhibited great strenth and perserverance in her ability to convince powerful leaders (predominantly male) to support her suggested changes in favor of New Mexican women and children.  She was an advocate for women's right to vote and for children by challenging the Native American boarding school standards.  She was the first female Superintendent of Santa Fe public schools.
